A prefabricated orthosis can be a device that is pre-made and then customized to meet the needs of the client. They are often prescribed for short-term use or non-complex presentations. However, only orthotists are qualified to fit orthoses to the entire body. It’s also important to note that these orthoses need to be modified and made an individual’s own.
