Full Stride Stance Control KAFO From Becker
The FullStride is a mechanical alignment device for individuals with knee instability. It uses a low profile cabling system that automatically unlocks after the end of the stance phase and locks again when your leg reaches full extension during the swing phase. Traditional KAFOs only lock in full extension, which provides lower limb stability but also causes gait deviations. Since traditional KAFOs don’t allow for knee flexion while the patient is walking, they also require more energy to use. A stance control orthosis (SCO) on the other hand allows patients to walk with less effort and a more symmetrical gait pattern.
